Bringing Style and Comfort to Your Home

At TWT Furniture Gallery, our mission is:

  • To provide high quality products and services to both beautify and improve the homes and lifestyle of our guests.

  • To help our community grow positively and to leave the path we create better than we find it.

  • To do so with uncompromising integrity.

Then... and Now

In the heart of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, TWT Furniture has evolved from the original Smith Furniture.  Established by Fred Smith in 1960, Fred's dedication to providing superior furniture has continued uninterrupted despite changes in ownership and location, including relocation after a fire.  Our focus on customer satisfaction has remained constant.

Today, we continue to offer quality furniture lines at fair prices.  We believe this to be the most advantageous for our guests, saving them time and money, and reducing the environmental impact of more frequent replacements.

Meet Eric Sockness

With 25+ years of experience in the design and home furnishings industry, Eric offers unparalleled expertise. Raised in Rice Lake, Eric's family owned a local shoe store for 98 years, followed by continued business ownership until the late 1990s. This legacy emphasizes the value of local business and exceptional customer service.

As a certified interior designer with a keen eye for timeless style and quality, Eric believes that personalized inspiration and premium products are crucial for creating spaces that reflect individual tastes and endure over time.

Eric reflects on his experience in the bicycle industry, citing Keith Bontrager's adage 'Light, Strong, Cheap... pick two.' Now, he finds Norman Collins' phrase 'Good work ain't cheap, and cheap work ain't good' more apt. "Regardless of the purchase, compromises are inevitable - whether price, quality, selection, or availability. Therefore, informed decision-making is crucial. Our business prioritizes quality products we stand behind.

Personal interaction, rather than automated systems, fosters a superior experience. Home furnishings are an extension of oneself, requiring careful consideration. Physical experiences, such as assessing cushion comfort, leather texture, or the smoothness of a hand-finished table, cannot be replicated virtually and are essential for informed choices."
